Poem In Rememberance Of Sir John Compton Father Of The Nation

Sir john George Melvin Compton

A man beyond my style of composition
Honesty is said to be a good policy and
Throw away the key
Trust me having a great man like him in
Our lives also in our presence was an
Honor

Memories of him will last forever
Cause without his courage life road
Would be harder for everyone
Sometimes I say to myself if only we
Appreciated such a great individual he
Would still be here today

These are some things we will all miss
From such a SELF- LESS INDIVIDUAL
Like the RT.SIR JOHN GEORGE MELVIN COMPTON
His touch, smile, hard times just to make our
Homeland ST.LUCIA a better place for us all
A man we trusted with our lives day after day
And never disappointed us not once
This great man never thought of him-self
Above anyone that is one of the things I admired most
About him
A man who had visionary hope looked an ordinary mountain
And see great things happening there
Where as if am suppose to look at that very mountain I would
See nothing but trees.

Always gave to people and don’t complain or mention that he
Has done so
A powerful man in his words, touch, actions and the list can go on
Most people criticized him on everything he did and the time they
Criticized him most was when he decided to bring back the light in the country
I know for sure that there were times it hurt him inside and there were times
He wanted to curl up
But that didn’t happen
The rt. Hon sir john George Melvin Compton about the people and the children
His entire life, even while on his sick bed he thought of about the children

A great man
Passionate, sensitive, honest, boldface, straightforward to anyone
Caring and the list goes on
St. Lucia will miss all these things about him.
Even today as you live on and we speak of the development of the country
It’s difficult not to mention your name
Cause you paved the pathway for us leading us half way through
And then you told us good bye
The nation streets flooded with people in disbelief that you were gone
But there was no turning back, you had said good bye and see us
In the heavens
The rt. Hon sir john George Melvin Compton better known as “daddy Compton”
Or The Father of the Nation
